Was your home build prior to 1990?
If it was, there's a good chance you have asbestos lurking somewhere in your home. Prior to 1990, asbestos was routinely added to over 3,000 common building materials.
These materials have now been proven to be extremely detrimental to your health. When asbestos is disturbed, microscopic asbestos fibres are released into the air. When these fibres are inhaled, they can lead to serious diseases such as Asbestosis and Mesothelioma.
Planning a renovation or demolition?
If you are planning to disturb anything in an older home, you first need to evaluate for the presence of hazardous materials.
The first step is to have a qualified expert assess the risk of asbestos in your home and take samples to identify which materials are contaminated. If a lab confirms the presence of asbestos in your home, you will need to hire a qualified company to perform your asbestos abatement before you can continue on with renovations or demolition.

It is often difficult to understand just how dangerous flood and water damage can be - there is more to be concerned about than water damaged furniture and possessions.
Flood waters isn't just water, it also contains refuse, soil, debris, feces, and more. Moisture can collect and pool behind walls, where you can't see it, leading to dangerous mould, and even worse - microbial growth that occurs in carpets and drywall. It's because of all these health threats that you should have professionals assist you in dealing with the aftermath of floods.

We offer drywall removal and disposal services, but due to asbestos concerns, we need to take a few things into consideration.
If your drywall has a date stamp showing it was produced after 1990, then removal and disposal is straightforward. If your drywall doesn't have a date stamp, or if the stamp shows it was produced before 1990, then before we can begin removal or disposal we need to get it tested for asbestos.
These professional testing services range from $50+ per sample and within a day or two you’ll have your results.
Once we have received the laboratory results and know the asbestos status of your drywall we can move forwards. If it's free of asbestos then removal and disposal is simple and can begin immediately. If the results show your drywall contains asbestos fibres we will need to discuss the proper steps for safe removal and disposal.
